Towne Lake Business Association Member Spotlight
Philly Connection

From the

Towne Lake Business Association

The Towne Lake Business Association (TLBA) currently is in the midst of conducting its Entrepreneurial Scholarship Contest. These $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to a graduating college or technical school-bound high school senior, one each at Etowah and Woodstock High Schools. We will announce the winners at each school's Honors Night.

In March, the TLBA hosted its first quarterly Business After Hours of the year. More than forty people attended this event at Stonebridge Tavern and enjoyed a variety of hors d'oeuvres and beverages. It was a great opportunity for members and guests to network and get to know each other better in a relaxed after-hours environment. Stay tuned to future articles for details on the next Business After Hours.

The topic of our March Lunch 'N' Workshop was "Creating Excellent Customer Service." The members and guests in attendance were treated to a number of ways to help improve customer service at their businesses. We want to thank Mark Nelson of Toastmasters International for leading the workshop. Please take a look at our upcoming calendar of events.

Owners Tano and Wendy Porbandarwala.

Have you ever tried an authentic Philadelphia Cheesesteak? You have to experience the cheesesteaks at Philly Connection. You will definitely agree with their slogan - "Heaven On A Roll."

Woodstock residents Tano and Wendy Porbandarwala are owners of the two Philly Connection restaurants in Woodstock. The first one, purchased in 1997, is located on Highway 92 and Highway 5 in the Ingles shopping center. Seven months ago they opened the doors to the Towne Lake store located behind Longhorn's Steakhouse in the new Publix Shopping Center.

All the sandwiches are freshly made to order using only USDA, 90% lean steak and no oil is used in the grilling process. The breads contain no saturated fats.

In addition to the variety of Cheesesteak sandwiches, diners can choose from chicken, turkey or vegetarian hoagies. Philly Connection also serves onion rings, chicken tenders, fries, mozzarella cheesesticks and Munchers, as well as fresh salads for the health conscious. There is also a Kid's Meal menu with selections including grilled cheese and chicken sandwiches. There is something for everyone!

Both locations offer clean, friendly and courteous service. While the meals are made fresh, quick service is a priority of the owners. Both locations offer free local delivery as well as catering discounts ranging from 10

20%. The owners are always eager to help the local community by opening their doors to fundraisers as well as local charitable organizations, schools and sports teams. Please visit either Philly Connection location to experience a delicious cheesesteak. For more information, please call the Hwy 92 location at (770) 928-7161 or the Towne Lake location at (770) 924-1655.
