On February 5, 18 year-old Nicole Slifcak was involved in a serious car accident. She was listed in critical condition at North Fulton Hospital. Being in her senior year, Nicole was looking forward to prom and graduation, as well as playing soccer. Instead, she now spends her days fighting to recover and re-master the skills we all take for granted: standing, walking, balancing and other motor skills. She suffered a brain stem injury and a broken jaw. She still is facing months of rehabilitation, and her family is facing mounting medical bills.

On Saturday, May 7, the Towne Lake community can once again prove that it's a "community that cares," by attending or donating to the Goal for Nicole Benefit Festival and Round Robin Tennis Tournament. The festival will be held at the Eagle Watch main park from 4 - 7 p.m. (tennis tournament from 2 - 6 p.m.) and will feature Williamson Bros. BBQ, live music, children's activities and more. Entry deadline for the tennis tournament is May 4. Tickets for the festival can be purchased from the Woodstock Coffee House, Curves, Towne Lake Diamonds and Main Street Realty in Woodstock.
