Red Cross Blood Drive on Sunday, May 22 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Fellowship

Cherokee
County Senior Services
The Cherokee County Senior Services has a
satellite location for weekly congregate meetings at Heritage Presbyterian
Church, 5223 Bells Ferry Road. The group will meet each Thursday from
10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Seniors are invited to join the group for socializing,
exercising, lunch, scheduled activities and more. For more information,

Goal
For Nicole
A
benefit and a round robin tennis tournament for Eagle Watch resident,
Nicole Slifcak will be held on Saturday, May 7 at the Eagle Watch main
park (benefit from 4 - 7 p.m. and tennis tournament from 2 - 6 p.m.) Nicole
was involved in a serious two-car accident and suffered a brain stem injury
and is currently under going extensive rehabilitative therapy. The benefit
is to assist the family with the mounting medical bills. The event will
include food, beverages and fun activities for the entire family. Please

HeartSaver
Classes
Northside
Hospital - Cherokee will offer adult, child and infant HeartSaver classes,
which will include AED training on Thursday, May 12 from 7 - 10 p.m. The
class will teach CPR, rescue breathing and assisting the conscious as
well as the unconscious choking victim. The class in not intended for
people who require healthcare provider certification. The class will be
held at Northside Hospital - Cherokee Education Resource Building, 201
Hospital Road, Canton. The cost is $40 and registration is required by
calling (770) 720-5474.

Fair for Seniors
The
Cherokee County Senior Services will host an Information Fair on Thursday,
May 12 from 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. There will be select vendors with the focus
on information and referral to better serve the seniors of Cherokee County.

Papa's
Pantry's New Office
Papa's
Pantry recently relocated to 6551 Commerce Pkwy., Suite 200, Woodstock.
The Pantry will hold an open house on Wednesday May 11 from 11:30 a.m.
to 2 p.m. They are adding a counselor allowing them to kick off the Family
Services Division. Financial donations and non-perishable food items are
needed. They also need laundry detergent and toilet paper. A donation
barrel is located in the lobby of The TowneLaker office at 1025

for Paws
The
Georgia Canines for Independence (GCI) will hold its first annual charity
golf tournament on Monday, May 9 at the Woodmont Golf Club in Canton with
a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. GCI is looking for sponsors and businesses
willing to donate items/gift certificates which will be given away at
the luncheon following the tournament. To play, the cost is $125 per person.
Proceeds will benefit the GCI in its training of service dogs. For more

Our Soldiers
The
Cherokee County Democrats are sponsoring a collection of items which will
be sent to our troops. The collection will take place on Saturday, May
14 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Holly Springs Kroger, (exit 14 at I-575)
and Kmart at 1750 Marietta Highway in Canton. The soldiers have specifically
requested items ranging from toiletries and snack foods to blankets, T-shirts

Woodstock
City Park Concert Series
The
City of Woodstock has commenced its Annual Concert in the Park series
with "Woodstock Rocks, 2005." This month's scheduled performers are The
Dirty Dozen Brass Band - Mardi Gras in May. The New Orleans native band
has been around since the late '70s, and they are known for their brass
band marches, Funk, R&B, Gospel and Rock. The concert is Friday May
6 at 7 p.m., seating is first come, first serve. Picnics are welcome but
alcohol is not. Bring the entire family for this free event!
