Art of Accessorizing

A presentation designed to inspire quick and easy ways to spruce up a living space through the art of accessorizing will be held on Tuesday, July 26 at the House and Garden Boutique in Woodstock. The evening is co-sponsored by Reborn Rooms. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. House and Garden Boutique is located at 301 Bowles Drive, ½ mile north of Highway 92 on the east side. Breast Cancer Walk Benefit Event

A fundraising event benefiting the Atlanta 3-day Breast Cancer Walk will be held on Saturday, July 16 at Victoria Harbor Marina. The event will include BBQ, beverages and a live band. There also will be a raffle. For more information on this event, please call Lori Sewell at (770) 926-3866.

Consignment Sale

The Hillside United Methodist Church Mission Trippers will hold a children's consignment sale on August 5 - 6, Friday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. - 12 noon. Farmer's Markets

Every Friday morning in July and August, there will be a Downtown Farmer's Market located in downtown Woodstock. The market will be open from 9 a.m. - 12 noon and will feature fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers from local farmers. The Cherokee Master Gardeners also will hold a farmer's market co-sponsored by Cagle's Dairy. This market will be held every Saturday through Labor Day weekend from 8 a.m. - 12 noon. Fearbuster Group

The Fearless Living Institute recently announced local resident Doreen Pettit as a Fearless Living Fearbuster Group Leader. She has been trained on how to help and support others on how to live without fear. Fundraiser at Starlight
Movie Series

On Friday, July 22, the Cherokee Recreation and Parks Authority (CRPA) will host an outdoor movie. The movie is rescheduled from the June date which had been rained out. The movie is

"Ice Age" and will begin at dusk. The movie is free, but a children's activity table will be set up as a fundraiser for eight year-old Demetri Landell. Demetri is autistic with multiple medical conditions, and proceeds from the activity table will assist in medical expenses not covered by insurance.

The CRPA Starlight Movie Series is not a charity event, and Demetri's family is utilizing a vendor booth for the fundraiser.

Master Gardener Workshops

The Cherokee County Master Gardeners will hold two July workshops. On Saturday, July 16, the seminar will be "Creating a Backyard Wildlife Habitat." The Master Gardeners will share ideas on how to get close to wildlife in participants' backyards. The second seminar will be "Butterfly Gardening." Participants will learn how to select the right plans and other tricks of the trade in order to attract butterflies. Music at Messiah Concert

The Church of the Messiah will present its monthly concert on Saturday, July 9. Rita Burrows will be the opening act, followed by the featured band, Cross Reference. Admission is free with a donation of a canned good or boxed cereal for MUST Ministry's food pantry. Gourmet coffee, soft drinks and bottled water will be available. Sleep Problem Class

Northside Hospital - Cherokee will offer a wellness class addressing common sleep problems, sleep apnea and the long-term complications that snoring and sleep disturbances cause. The seminar will be held on Tuesday, July 19 from 6:30 - 8 p.m. at the Northside Hospital - Cherokee Education Center, 201 Hospital Road in Canton. Woodstock City Park
Concert Series

The fourth concert in the "Woodstock Rocks 2005!" series will be none other than Micky Dolenz of the Monkees. Micky is a highly anticipated return performer to Woodstock as he performs crowd favorites from the Monkees as well as few of his own tunes. The concert will be held on Friday, July 16 in City Park. Concert participants are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, and refreshments. There are several vendors selling food as well. Alcohol is strictly prohibited. Bring the entire family for this fun and free event!
