Children's Consignment Sale

Wildwood Baptist Church will hold its Annual Wildwood Kidz-Sense Children's Consignment sale on Friday, August 19 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturday, August 20 from 9 a.m. - 12 noon. Fundraiser at Starlight Movie Series

On Saturday, August 13, the Cherokee Recreation and Parks Authority (CRPA) will host an outdoor movie. The movie is E.T. and will begin at dusk. The movie is free, but a children's activity table will be set up as a fundraiser for eight year-old Demetri Landell. Demetri is autistic with multiple medical conditions, and proceeds from the activity table will assist in medical expenses not covered by insurance.

The CRPA Starlight Movie Series is not a charity event, and Demetri's family is utilizing a vendor booth for the fundraiser.

Fundraiser for Breast Cancer 3Day

Executive Styles by Tina will be open on Monday, August 8 and Monday, August 15 from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. with all proceeds from these two days benefiting the Breast Cancer 3Day. The salon is located at 2370 Towne Lake Parkway, Suite 100. For more information, please call (770) 592-2644.

Gathering on the Green

BridgePointe Church is sponsoring a free family concert on Saturday, August 6 at Hobgood Park. The concert will feature the praise bands from BridgePointe and NorthLink churches. There will be children's activities, and dinner and dessert can be purchased from Family Traditions and Bruster's who will have booths set up. The event will begin at 6 p.m.

KIA Motor's Picnic in the Park

The KIA Motor's 2005 Picnic in the Park will be held on Saturday, August 20 from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. at Hobgood Park. The event is a benefit for the

National Transplant Fund (NTAF) in honor of Eagle Watch resident Greg Southers, who is need of a heart transplant. The event will include a day of food, family activities, a silent auction and a raffle. A few of the raffle prizes include a new KIA vehicle, collector's guitars, vacation packages plus many gift certificates from area retailers. NATF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All monetary contributions and gifts-in-kind are tax deductible.

Kid-n-Stuff Sale

Woodstock Community Church will host the Annual Kid-n-Stuff sale on Friday, August 12 from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturday, August 13 from 9 a.m. - 12 noon. Northside Hospital Wellness Classes

Northside Hospital - Cherokee will offer an overview of the treatment and prevention of GI (Gastrointestinal) disorders and cancer diagnosis. A gastroenterologist will describe the symptoms, origins and most state-of-the-art treatments for common GI disorders, such as irritable bowel syndrome and colitis to name a few. Also discussed will be dietary and lifestyle changes and cancer-preventative measures. The class will be held on Tuesday, August 9 from 6:30 - 8 p.m. at Northside Hospital - Cherokee Education Center, 201 Hospital Road, Canton. TLBA Golf Tournament

The 5th Annual Towne Lake Business Association (TLBA) Golf Tournament will be held on Tuesday, September 27. The organizers are seeking sponsors and players for this event. The tournament benefits the TLBA Scholarship program which awards two $1,000 scholarships to a graduating senior from Etowah and Woodstock High Schools in the Spring. The deadline for sponsorship is September 12, and the deadline for player registration is September 19. Young Journey Foundation Fundraiser

The Young Journey Foundation, a non-profit, youth organization which focuses on the performing arts, will hold its First Annual Black Tie Gala and Silent Auction on Saturday, August 20 at the Canterbury Country Club in Marietta.
