Carmel Elementary Fall Festival Carmel Elementary School will hold its annual Fall Festival on Saturday, October 11, from 1 — 5 p.m. This year’s big attraction will be a petting zoo!
Kleven Boston Elementary Fall Festival Kleven Boston Elementary School will hold its annual Fall Festival on Friday, October 10, from 5:30 — 8:30 p.m. Come out with the family and enjoy the festivities. There will be inflatables, face painting, cakewalks, raffles, carnival games, prizes, food and entertainment.
TLC Church Community Fall Festival The Towne Lake Community Church Fall Fest will be held on Friday, October 24, from 6 — 8:30 p.m. There will be games, prizes, silent auction, food, entertainment and fun for the whole family. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Fall Fair Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will host its third annual community Fall Fair on Saturday, October 18, from 10 a.m. — 4 p.m. There will be free games, an inflatable maze for the kids along with food vendors, crafters and entertainment.

KidsFest The City of Woodstock will sponsor KidsFest on Friday, October 31 from 3 — 7 p.m. There will be trick or treat activities for children, including moonwalks, carnival games, pumpkin bowling, apple bobbing, magicians, face painting, and candy give-away. Moonlight Madness Safe Kids of Georgia will present its annual Moonlight Madness event on Tuesday, October 28, at the Towne Lake Kroger. The event will be held from 4 — 7 p.m. Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes, as there will be a costume contest and numerous games and treats for them to enjoy. Area firefighters will be carving pumpkins, and Cherokee County Emergency Services will be handing out replacement smoke detector batteries. Each child who attends the event will receive a free silver reflective plastic trick-or-treat bag with die-cut handles that reflect car headlights and help make children more visible at night. Fall Hay Day & Chili Cook-Off Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency (CRPA) is joining forces with Ministries United in Service and Training (M.U.S.T.) Cherokee to offer this day of family fun. The cost to attend is one, new unwrapped toy per family, and all toys will be donated to M.U.S.T Cherokee for the upcoming holiday season. The festival will include carnival style games, a moonwalk and slide, pony and hayrides, cakewalk, prizes, food, dunking booth, mini-haunted house, and visits with your favorite movie and cartoon characters! The event will be on Saturday, October 11, from 11 a.m. — 3 p.m. at the Twin Creeks Softball Complex in JJ Biello Park. In conjunction with Hay Day, CRPA will offer its third annual Chili Cook-Off on the 11th as well. Cooking begins at 8 a.m., tasting begins at 11 a.m., with the announcement of winners at 1:45 p.m. Prizes will be given for Taster’s Choice, Judge’s Choice and the Best Decorated booth. Cagle’s Diary MaiZE Cagle’s Diary MaiZE, an intricate network of twists and turns carved into ten acres of corn, will be open through November 16. The cost will be $10 per person. The MaiZE will be open from 5 — 11 p.m. on Friday nights, 10 a.m. — 11 p.m. on Saturdays and 10 a.m. — 6 p.m. on Sundays. There will be lots of pumpkins, farm tours, and hayride bonfires. Taste of Canton The City of Canton will present the 2008 Taste of Canton on Thursday, October 9, from 5 — 9 p.m. in historic downtown Canton. There will be food, merchandise and informational booths.
Cherokee Pignic The event will be held on October 17 & 18 and will include a sanctioned barbeque cook off, a Halloween costume contest on Friday night and lots of family fun on Saturday. Georgia History Timeline Family Night Event Watch history come alive on Thursday, October 9, from 6 — 8 p.m., at the Funk Heritage Center at Reinhardt College in Waleska. Harvest Square Arts and Crafts Festival The 32nd Annual Harvest Square Arts and Crafts Festival will be held on Saturday, October 18, from 10 a.m. — 6 p.m. at the Marietta Square in Cobb County. The festival will feature local artist and craftspeople. Exhibitors will include painting, pottery, woodwork, metal, jewelry, glass, fabric, fl oral designs, and much more. Georgia Mountain Fall Festival This 10-day event will take place October 10 — 19, and will feature musical performances, educational demonstrations, a flower show and the ever-popular Georgia’s Offi cial State Fiddlers Convention. Fall at Burt’s Farm Come experience the fall season at Burt’s Farm in the secluded North Georgia Mountains where the only thing more beautiful than the fall foliage is the sea of orange created by thousands of Burt’s pumpkins. Georgia Apple Festival The Ellijay Lions Club, the Gilmer County Chamber of Commerce, the cities of Ellijay and East Ellijay, and Gilmer County invite everyone to come and enjoy the 37th year of the Georgia Apple Festival. There will be more than 300 vendors with handmade, handcrafted items, as well as many demonstrations of how crafts are made. The festival also will have a parade on October 18, at 10 a.m. and an antique car show on October 11.
Fear Factory The Fear Factory Haunted House will be held in Cartersville every Friday and Saturday night in October. Tickets are $8 in advance on-line or $10 at the door. All proceeds benefit the service dogs of Georgia Canines for Independence (GCI), a nonprofit based in Woodstock.
